The A17700 is a sensor interface IC designed to interface piezo resistive bridge for pressure sensing. It offers high accuracy output in Analog, PWM and SENT format with diagnostic. While analog output is used for legacy designs, PWM and unique FAST SENT output protocols support new application requirements. Accuracy is achieved by gain/offset input signal trim and 4th order polynomial input signal compensation at applied pressure and temperature. The 4th order polynomial compensation algorithm allows customers to optimize accuracy versus test cost (chose # of test points) and is flexible enough for multiple applications.
The A17700 diagnostic functions satisfy automotive safety-critical application specifications. The A17700 is configurable with Manchester programming interface. It includes on-chip EEPROM technology capable of supporting up to 100 read/write cycles for programming of calibration parameters. The A17700 is available in a 24-pin 4 mm × 4 mm QFN package with wettable flank and exposed thermal pad.
The 17700 is used in medium and high-pressure automotive applications as oil injection in engine and automatic transmission, EGR, fuel pressure, air pressure, coolant pressure. Device is qualified with grade-0 automotive processes.
